Sustainable Pontoon Materials

With its 100-year design life and contribution to decarbonisation in construction, FRP has more than surpassed having economical benefits – it’s sustainable too. With construction materials, such as timber, being in significant shortage until beyond 2035, it is time to consider other options. FRP is not in short supply and Wagners CFT are meeting supplier demand in excelling lead times.

FRP as an industry has been able to put itself forward as a preferred sustainable solution for construction materials. FRP minimises environmental impact due its non-leaching and non-corrosive nature, it has a longer design life than other options and therefore greater sustainability.

Through less embodied carbon, structures made from FRP are contributing to reducing global warming effects. Thanks to its nature of being non-leaching, there is also no chance of FRP products releasing harmful substances into the marine environment that may have a negative impact on marine life.

Our prefabricated, modularised designs make for quick and easy installation. You can choose to have your product supplied in kit form, pre-drilled to your specifications, or delivered partially or fully assembled.

With FRP’s advantage of being naturally light in weight, it is easier than more traditional materials to transport, handle and install. Once your project is designed and ready to construct, we can put you in contact with one of our incredible installation partners.
