Erie County Public Works Department in the state of New York in the USA had completed significant maintenance on their bridges due to corrosion of the superstructure from de-icing salt.  Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) was engaged to design and manufacture the prefabricated road bridge panels using a hybrid of Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) superstructures and concrete deck panels.

The Wagners CFT bridge on New Oregon Road in Erie County was installed using minimal equipment owing to FRP’s light weight nature and the bridge panels also installed in just 31 days.  The Wagners CFT bridge has now been in situ for 16 years (installed 2008), with no maintenance required despite being exposed to extremely harsh weather conditions.

The unique durability, strength, corrosion-proof and termite proof properties of Wagners FRP structures is perfect for coastal, marine and environmentally sensitive areas.  Assembled in a conrolle environment with precise tolerances and attention to detail Wagners FRP structures are a superior product.  Possessing a full in-house design team, Wagners CFT work closely with the client to ensure a robust, aesthetically pleasing road transport asset that will provide decades of service.
