Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) was engaged to complete the construction of a timber viewing deck with Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) substructure for Wilson Outlook Reserve overlooking Howard Smith Wharves and The Storey Bridge in Brisbane, Queensland.
The client (The Landscape Constuction Company for Brisbane City Council) wanted the look and feel of raw hardwood timber but with the durability of an FRP substructure. FRP is perfect for this project because it is inert and will not rot, rust or corrode, and is resistant to acid sulfate soil and termites.
With magnificent views over the Brisbane River and Storey Bridge, Wilson Outlook Reserve is a popular site for special occasions with bookings available for short duration and capacity for 50 people.
