Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) welcomes new Executive Director, John Dignam to the helm of its global Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) manufacturing business.
Wagners CFT produces Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) structural profiles for engineering applications including pedestrian boardwalks and bridges, road, marine and electrical infrastructure.
John brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in manufacturing for construction and infrastructure both here in Australia and overseas.
“I’m thrilled to be here, and the welcoming I have received from both the team at Wagners CFT and the greater Toowoomba community has been nothing short of kind, warm and friendly,” John Dignam said.
“Since arriving a little under a month ago I’ve been impressed at the professionalism and level of innovation from the team at Wagners and their absolute commitment to continuous improvement.”
“So, our key goals for the first six months of my appointment is to support the great work and foundation that has already been laid by the team and build on the business in terms of continuous improvement and growth both here in Australia and our US operations.”
John plans on splitting his time between Australia, New Zealand and the US.
“During my initial 6 months, I also intend to travel around the businesses key manufacturing centres being Wellcamp in Queensland and Texas in the US to understand the needs of our customers and the opportunities that may be present in different markets,” John Dignam said.
“As I come to terms and understand the intricacies of the business, the variety and scope of plans for the short to medium term will begin to reveal themselves and I look forward to really working with our experienced and professional teams to maximise opportunities for customers and further harness efficiencies within the business.”
John has relocated from Sydney in New South Wales to Toowoomba in Queensland to take on the role.
“I have to say Toowoomba is bigger and more beautiful than I anticipated. The old buildings are just beautiful particularly when lit up at night.”
“The manufacturing facility and office for Wagners CFT is on the hillside overlooking Wellcamp Airport and Business Park; and looking west, the sunsets as I have been leaving the office have been magnificent!”
